A Dane Day
I had the day off today and got to spend some quality time with my boys. I know to some people they are "just dogs," but to us, they are very large, slobbery, hairy children with four legs who are suckers for veggies bones and rawhide. They sleep on a twin mattress with their own blankets, eat apples and peanut butter for snacks, and love cuddling on the couch to watch their favorite, "I Love Lucy." And we like them a lot more than people most days. No offense.
They are the best companions and when their rears somehow find their way onto my lap, it makes my day. It's getting harder to hold them, but I will try to keep those hundred pound bodies close to me for a long as they will let me. Their size makes them look fierce and a little horse-like, but it would be hard to find a pair of dogs more sweet than mine. Just ask our vet; she tries to steal them everytime we visit.
Even though we don't have "children," per se, we can't get enough of our furry babies. And, while I didn't get much done today, I have had a dane awesome day with the boys.
