A few of my favorite things...
I don't know if I've watched "The Sound of Music" too much, or what, but I have been thinking a lot about my favorite things.
Hmmm. I could probably go on and on. Life is pretty amazing if you look around.
- Finding one of Ben's most adored songs on the radio and listening to it. Not because it's my favorite, but because it reminds me of him.
- Travel: All aspects of it; seeing new places, taking photos, plane peanuts, and trying new foods. Lots of food. Mmmm. Food.
- Baby giggles: While these infectous, angelic sounds are rare occurrences in the pediatric hospital I work at, toothless grins and belly giggles pretty much make my week.
- Romantic comedies: The ever-predictable, cheesy story line never gets old to me. Bless my good husband for still watching them with me.
- Peppers: Whether they are red, green, yellow, or orange, they make one of my favorite snacks. I like eating them with hummus or whole like an apple. Try them...your bowels will thank you.
- Porch swings: With summer finally starting to show itself, there is no better place to enjoy the breeze than a peaceful swing. It's also a fantastic place to peruse a good book.
- Puppy kisses: In my opinion, the more slobbery, the better. There are few things more genuine and sweet than the excited greeting of a clumsy puppy.
- IV starts: It's kind of morbid, but one of the first things I notice about people are their veins. Then their teeth. I may have some vampire tendencies. Anyway, I just love starting IV's...there is something magical about seeing flashback in the catheter (my nurse friends can relate).
- Pink toenail polish: I don't consider myself a girly-girl, but I can't help coating my toenails in luscious, shiny, bubble-gum-looking paint. My feet at at their happiest when all dolled up in pink.
- The ocean: My first experience with this wonder didn't occur until I was 20 and, while short-lived, our relationship has been pretty sweet. I am instantly calmed by the waves and watching Ben act like a four-year-old splashing in the waves never gets old.
