Lately
What has been up with us as of late:
Ben: My man got into his Master's program and he starts in September at Boston University! He is super excited and the best part is we get to spend a few weeks in Boston next summer. Other than it being Red Sox territory, we can't wait. We will wear our Yankees garb proudly.
Accident prone: We have had an unusual amount of self-inflicted accidental injuries the past few weeks. Ben and I both nearly sliced fingers off with knives, I squashed my fingers in a door, and I have fallen down the stairs twice. What 24 year old falls down the stairs you may ask...this one. We have decided to get rid of all knives/sharp things in our house and to keep the stair gaits up if I'm home alone.
Chopped: I totally got myself scalped and donated 25 inches of hair to Locks of Love. It was one of the best experiences ever and everyone should do it at least once. I don't miss my hair. Or the amount of shampoo it took to wash it. Or how tired my arms would get styling it. I feel like a free woman.
The boys: Since Ben is back at school, they are adjusting to a new routine. We found out a few weeks ago that Hank has developed arthritis in his hips. He has been on a anti-inflammatory which has helped, but it's hard to see our boy hurting. Sam is as loving as ever and can always be found napping on something soft. Winston is still getting the hang of potty training. After a lifetime in a crate all day, it's bound to be a little challenging. It gets a little crazy with three dogs under two years old, but we love it.
Work: I have been in the NICU for a few weeks now and it's going swimmingly. I sure miss my friends from Primary's, but I love the challenge of ICU and learning so much everyday. As I cuddle with the babies during their two am feedings, I can't help but feel incredibly lucky to work with such strong little people.
Rachel: She has about 8 months to go on her mission. Time. Just. Crawls. When. She's. Gone. She is doing well as a trainer and sounds happy in her letters. April can't come soon enough.
Infertility: Gearing up for another cycle. More to come in a later post.
House: We are re-painting our gosh-awful pepto pink spare room in to something less...bold. A lovely elephant skin hue with eucalyptus green for an accent wall. (I'll post pics of the finished, calmer project later). I did my fall deep clean of the house donated about a ton of stuff to D.I. When I dropped it off, both me and the nice man helping me were dripping sweat by the time we finished. We have cleaned the garage, organizing our stuff with new shelves made by my incredibly handy hubby. Cleaning, organizing, and throwing out stuff is so liberating. Dorky as it seems, it may be a serious hobby of mine.
That's pretty much it. I feel a picture purge coming. Prepare yourselves.
