Updated: Lights, Life, and the Boys

Lights: We got our Christmas spirit on last week and spent a few days in Salt Lake City. Down town is always so festive with the lights, horses pulling carriages, and the occasional caroler. We stayed at the Plaza and enjoyed shopping at City Creek, dinner at Blue Lemon, and lights at Temple Square. It was freezing, but it was so lovely to spend some quality time together.

Life: More Christmas! My parents cut us a freaking gorgeous 15 foot tree. It was quite a challenge for the pregnant chick and the boy with the bum arm to decorate, but I think we did pretty good.

Speaking of my boy and his arm, he had a pretty intense shoulder repair done right before Thanksgiving. The surgeon planned on doing 5 anchors to repair the labral tear, but Ben ended up needing 18 to get the job done. Both the nurse and the surgeon said he had the worst shoulder they had ever seen. Thanks to wrestling. Luckily, Ben is a rockstar and has been healing extremely well.

7 hours and 18 anchors later :(

The Boys: The Danes have had their share of health problems lately. Hank has had a chronic ear infection for the past 6 weeks that we can't seem to kick. We have been doing drops and daily washes that involve filling his ear up with a cleaning solution and using cotton balls to scrape them out. I don't blame him for not liking us right now. Sam got a pretty bad cut on his foot which required antibiotics--which are dosed by weight--so we feel like we're giving him pure gold. But it's worth it. They're my boys.
We put this sweatshirt on Sam as a joke, but he really liked it and fell asleep super fast.
