My Boys

Can I just tell you how much I love dogs? I would have like 10 more if we could afford it. A stray found its way to our house awhile back and I got a little excited when it didn't have tags, thinking she would make a lovely addition to the pack. But knowing how much I love my boys and how freaked I would be if they were lost, we walked around the neighborhood until we found the owners.

I think dogs are more like us than we realize. I have realized the very unique personalities of my dogs--protective, loving, mischievous--the list goes on. My boys are awesome. They are furry, slobbery members of my family with their very own quirks and oddities.

I wanted to compile a few that are especially endearing to me.

-Winston is a constant companion to whoever is cooking dinner. He will stand patiently next to the stove and conveniently cleans up any floor messes that may occur. He is also an excellent dish washer (we're saving water and feel pretty environmentally friendly with this guy on the job).
- Hank has very unique facial expressions. We can tell what he is thinking by the way his eyebrows move.
- Sam is much like his momma and can sleep anywhere. He snores like a bear (momma does not no matter what Ben may say).
- Winston sleeps on his back with his legs up in the air. I'm not fibbing and it continues to crack me up day after day.
- Hank has a sweet spot he loves on the couch. If someone sits there, he'll pace and eventually try to find a way to sit on whoever is there.
- Sam licks everything. We have noticed we walk around the house with our elbows slightly flexed, making our hands out of reach for his slobbery tongue.
- Winston gets freaked out by certain light fixtures. He sits under a select few and will growl and pace viciously until distracted by something else.
- Hank makes our queen bed feel like a crib mattress when he sleeps by us.
- Sam will do just about anything for an apple.
- Winston will always go for the ankles when play fighting with Ben. He holds on for dear life, trying to get the take down.
- Hank is protective of us. While we never raised his to be a guard dog, we have finally realized it's just his nature to be super loyal.
- Sam will wait until we fall asleep, then creep his way up the bed in between us. He has even managed to get under the covers a time or two.

I just love these boys of mine. I never thought I would have this many, but life would just be way too boring without them. Have I convinced you to get a dog yet? Do it!!

Sam is in there somewhere...he matches our blankets perfectly.

Hank's subtle cue it's time to get up: chewing the slippers.

Blessed nap time.

So dang adorable!
