Pregnancy Update: 21 Weeks and Ultrasound

Look at the belly on this girl! I am 21 weeks and a few days and this pregnancy is definitely flying by now that I am not hugging the toilet or my patients' garbage can ten times a day. I'm actually enjoying being pregnant and the changes I am experiencing on the journey to motherhood.

What has been going on:
- We have felt lots of kicks and stretches--especially when momma sings or daddy plays guitar.
- My abs have started to separate a bit and I'm pretty sure my belly button will never be the same.
- I have had my first bouts with heartburn. I don't care for it.
- I can't seem to get enough chips and salsa. This doesn't help the heartburn.
- Kleenex are a constant companion for my never ending bloody noses.
- The fact that I'm having a baby is starting to get very real. I may or may not being freaking out a tiny bit.
Love this belly. Please excuse my filthy mirror.
We got to see our son this week for the mid-pregnancy ultrasound.  As always, seeing him put us on cloud nine. He has grown so much! Auntie Heidi did the scan for us and  did such a good job checking out every body system and explaining things to us.

Our boy is totally healthy and perfect. We are so grateful. Bawling my eyes out, grateful. Part of me is a little proud of my body--years ago, pregnancy was a far off dream, and here I am, making a healthy little boy. My son's life is such a miracle. (Sniffle. Ok...stopping now).

Anyway, little man is breech right now which explains the orange sized head lump in my ribs and the perfectly landed, jolting kicks to my cervix. Luckily, there's plenty of time for him to get ready for a debut in a few months.
Oh. I just love him.
Little face and lips.
All curled up. On my cervix.
He has my black wavy lines!
These little feet are about two inches long now.
Isn't he just the sweetest?! In other baby news, we started getting a few things for the nursery.  We got a steal of a deal on a crib and while the instructions were bogus, Ben did a great job getting it up.

My adorable niece trying out the crib for cousin.
Good times! More updates later.
