Lately
Hey! Remember when I used to be a regular blogger? Yeah, that was cool. Life gets in the way of writing it all down, but I'm gonna try to do better. I've missed the 'ol blog.
So, here's what's been up with the Szabo's as of late:
Ben: He's pretty much half way through his fourth year of teaching junior high art. He freaking rocks at it. I bring him lunch occasionally and think, "oh, mercy! Get me outta here these kids are crazy." Kuddos to you, good husband for dealing with puberty, cell phones, and zits. You are one in a million. He also has a big interview at the end of the month for a teaching position at BYU in the art department. There are over 200 applicants, so to even get an interview is huge. I told ya, he's awesome.
Ben is also coaching the newly founded junior high wrestling team. They won districts and even had a few state placers. He rocks at coaching, too.
Me: I'm working part-time (two shifts a week) mostly night shifts and weekends. I have a perma headache and feel like I always have the flu, but this arrangement has worked the best for our family. I love working and I feel like I'm a better momma for it.
I have also taken on the task (with help from Ben) of redecorating the office. You know, so I'll have an official place to blog. ;) Pictures to come! Our house has definitely been a work in progress. Or we bought a lemon. Whatever.
Jude: Where do I start!? He's been growing and changing so much. Don't even get me started on him turning one in like a week and a half. The thought makes me tear up worse than when I'm slicing onions. Yup, my sceeen is blurred now. *sniffle, wipe nose on sleeve*
Aaaannway, he is about 8 months adjusted and is so close to crawling. I feel like he can taste the freedom and whatever else he'll be able to get into. He's eating solid food, albeit reluctantly, and has been slapping his high chair tray when he's done, as if to say, "that's it. I can't take any more." He has also developed his "silly face" where his nose wrinkles just perfectly and he squishes all those angelic features together.
He is really into other people's faces lately. And pinching things. Which leads to our faces getting pinched a lot. I would get mad, but the kid is so darn cute.
The pups: They are pretty patient with us and the lack of walking we've been doing with them. Poor fellas. Luckily, they quite enjoy a long nap on the couch about as much as anything.
Well, that's all for now. Stay tuned for Jude's birthday in a few weeks!
