To the mama in the next room

To the mama in the next room,

I don't know you. We just happened to have appointments with maternal fetal medicine the same day in rooms next to each other.

I heard your heart breaking as the tech finished my ultrasound. Your gut wrenching sobs jolted both the tech and I out of our conversation.

My appointment had been full of wonderful news--my baby girl was growing well, her fluid looked awesome,  and my placenta an cervix were in good shape. My baby smiled during the scan and showed us a little head with lots of hair on it.

I don't know what your scan showed. It sounded devastating. I looked at the wall between us and wanted to somehow share my good appointment with you.

But that wasn't possible, so I prayed. I asked the Lord to comfort you, to gather you up in His all knowing, loving arms and hold you.

I don't know you. But I'm so sorry.
